10x4, 10x6 and 10x8 lorries
For a 10x4 lorry, two out of the five axles are driven. These vehicles are built for transport over a hard surface. Four out of the five axles are steered, which makes them highly manoeuvrable and therefore suitable for use at factory sites and docklands. The tippers of these 10x4s are equipped with plastic lining to prevent any material from remaining behind in the tipper.
The horizontally unloadable 10x4 lorry is equipped with a conveyor belt, making it suitable for unloading in low spaces where there is no room to tip the body in the traditional manner.
The 10x6 lorries are specially built for the mining industry and are suitable for an overall weight of 80 tonnes. The lorries are ideal for transporting large quantities of soil and sand at enclosed sites.
For a 10x8 lorry, four out of the five axles are driven. Since 2012, Martens en Van Oord has had 2 MAN 10x8s. These vehicles are suitable for driving on terrain with an unpaved surface.
The 10x4 and 10x8 lorries are equipped with an overpressure system and have hydraulic valves and tailgate closing systems.
