More and more is being built underground in the Netherlands. These are complex projects that require specialist knowledge and expertise in areas such as earth moving, logistics and water management. It’s no surprise that we are being asked increasingly often to take on challenging and unique underground assignments.

Underground car parks, basements, tunnels: Martens en Van Oord can be viewed as a specialist in excavating cofferdams, both from the shore and from a pontoon, and both before and after pile-driving. One notable thing here is the film-clad separation structure as an alternative to sheetpiling and underwater concrete, which is a unique working method with which we have ample experience.

We can also be contacted for remediation assignments. We possess specialist equipment and knowledge to execute these types of projects expertly. If unexploded ordnance (UXO) are expected to be present in the subsoil, it is often necessary to investigate this first.
